MT Workshop
The Gibraltar Fire & Rescue Service (GFRS) MT Workshop section is comprised of 3 mechanics managed by the line manager, referred to as the Leading Mechanic.
Their responsibilities include:
- Service, repair and maintenance of all fire service vehicles;
- Service, repair and maintenance of a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB);
- Service, repair and maintenance of all associated equipment in accordance with DVLA legislation;
- Carry out vehicle movements and provide out of hours emergency breakdown cover.
There are times when our mechanics must come into work at short notice to carry out emergency repairs to our appliances and essential equipment. They are a vital part of the GFRS team and their professionalism on the job is integral to ensuring our operational readiness.
